Treatment Options for Children

Early detection of emotional and/or behavioral problems in children is critical. When disorders are treated at a young age, the brain is still malleable so it can actually be influenced in healthy directions.

Snowden’s Child Inpatient Program is for children ages five through eleven who require highly structured and intensive care. Our compassionate staff is experienced in working with the young and uses group therapy and structural play as an effective means of communication. After a comprehensive evaluation, our behavioral care professionals design an individual treatment program to meet the unique needs of each child.

The family is encouraged to visit their child often and meet with the case manager. Together, they work to develop family and safety contracts which will guide the child’s transition back home. During treatment, an educational coordinator supervises academic requirements to ease the child’s return to school upon discharge. Our goal is to increase confidence and a sense of wellness in each of our young patient’s lives.
